Upon starting the game, players are given the choice of their champion. From there, they embark on an exhilarating journey through card-based dungeons, where they must gather items to enhance their abilities and vanquish formidable monsters. The relentless crawl forward is a test of skill and determination.

This acclaimed game has already garnered several prestigious awards and nominations, including the 2022 Megamigs Award, Tiny Teams Fest Nominee, and DemoNight Nominee.

Forward is distinguished by its innovative gameplay mechanics. Players progress through intelligently generated dungeons presented in the form of cards. Maneuvering their characters from one card to another becomes a strategic endeavor as they strive to avoid enemy attacks. Each card possesses distinct effects, making thoughtful decision-making paramount.

The ultimate objective is to conquer eight challenging levels of the dungeon. As players advance, the difficulty becomes progressively steeper. Success hinges on skillful movement choices, shrewd item selection, and utilizing one's unique abilities wisely. Every decision holds immense consequence.

Forward offers a vast array of item combinations, empowering players to craft their ideal character based on their goals and the cards they encounter. With over 100 item cards, nine playable characters brimming with distinct skills and game mechanics, 27 unique active competencies, and three engaging game modes, there is an abundance of variety and choice at players' fingertips.

As a roguelike-inspired game, Forward stays true to genre conventions. The stakes are high—death terminates the game—and the dungeons are procedurally generated to ensure continuous surprises. Movement occurs in a turn-based fashion, making resource management (such as health, armor, mana, and gold) an essential consideration. Additionally, the game incorporates a wealth of randomly drawn items, contributing to endless replayability.

Forward originally launched as a highly successful 2022 PC game under the name Forward: Escape the Fold. Its overwhelmingly positive reception prompted Two Tiny Dice—the developer—to adapt it for mobile platforms, allowing a wider audience to enjoy its captivating and challenging gameplay.
